Theappcanprovideguidanceonwork/restratiosandfluidintakeduetohightemperatures.WeatherFXisanappthatcanretrievetemperature,barometricpressureandrelativehumiditybasedontheiPhone/iPadGPSdata.Theappwillalsoapproximatethewetbulbandwetbulbglobe(WBGT)temperaturesfromtheretrievedvalues.PleasenotethattheWBGTisjustanestimate.Theestimatedoesnotaccountforwindorlowlightconditions.Theestimateisbasedonamoderateamountofsunlight.TrueWBGTcanonlybeacquiredthroughWBGTinstrumentation.

OnceyouaccepttheprompttoacquiretheGPSposition,theLatitudeandLongitudelabelswillbepopulated.Clickthe“Update”buttonandtheappwillpopulatethetemperature,pressureandhumiditytextfieldsbasedtheclosestweatherStationIDtoyourposition.TheappwillthencalculatethewetbulbandWBGTtemperatures.You'llalsonoticethattheWeatherFXappwillplacethelocationnameandtimeofthereadingatthetopofthescreen.Thiswayyouwillknowifthereadingsareinyourlocationandtimely.

BesidesacquiringtheweatherfromGPSyoumaygetyourownestimatesforwetbulbandWBGTtemperaturesbytypingtemperature,pressureandhumidityintotherespectivetextfields.Clickthe“Manual”segmentedbutton,enterthewhitefieldsfollowedbyclickingthe“Update”button.

Theappwillalsocomputerandomnumbersfortemperature,pressureandhumidityclickingthe"Shake"segmentedbutton.Thedevicemaybeshakenandnewsettingswillpopulatethefields.ClickupdatebuttonandtherandomwetbulbandWBGTtemperatureswillbecomputed.

Afteranupdatehasbeenexecuted,youmayuseWeatherFXtoquicklyconverttemperaturesfromFahrenheittoCelsiusandviceversabyclickingthedesired“°F”or"°C”segmentedbuttons.Barometricpressuremaybeconvertedfrominchesmercurytomillibarsandviceversabyclickingthedesired“in”or“mBar”segmentedbuttons.

Afteranupdateyouwillbepresentedwithaflagconditionbuttononthebottomleftofthescreen.TheflagconditionisderivedfromtheWBGTestimate.Iftheflagconditionisnot“NONE”,youmayclickontheconditiontoyieldworktorestratiosandwaterconsumptiongiventhecurrentestimatedflagcondition.Thesefiguresarepostedasaquickandportablereferenceonly.GuidanceforthesefiguresareacquiredfromtheU.S.MarineCorpsOrder6200.1EdatedJune,2002.Youarestronglyadvisedtoreadthecompleteguidancetoknowwhateachentrymeans.
